Waiting

Waiting waiting waiting waiting
waiting for a relief that never comes
but what use is such yelling when it only falls
upon these deaf eardrums?
I twist, I turn, I writhe in pain
and all within my sleep
What good are such vivid dreams if only they make me weep?
The crossroads of life have begun to beckon
And I move through life like a dream
But when the final moment comes and I see how short life was
I wonder if I was ever even seen.
A flutter of pretty eyelashes,
I was gone just as soon
I sit awaiting, always waiting,
the light of the opal moon
It went so fast, so very fast
Spending too much time in waiting for all to bring me laud
But what good is praise when your waiting waiting
And gone so quickly you were never seen by your God?
waiting waiting waiting waiting
waiting by the moon
my maker, my mother, friends and lovers untrue
I waited far too long and then was gone
much
too
soon.
