I Have My Storm Cloud

By

Beenie Donaldson

I Have my storm cloud

Whirlwind of butterflies

In my head

Brooding silence

Raging nothing

The phone stopped

Ringing long ago

The old clock

With it’s tell-tale heart

Hands frozen on the hour

(how do you spell that?)

Aj with her

Immaculate advice

Don’t sweat it babe.

We can’t stop now

(so go ahead without me.)

Swirling and Whirling

I spy a block of wood

(brush off your shoulder.)

Dagger of words

No shield for that

Whose blood be this

Just fruit punch on my sleeve

Don’t lift a finger

These plates can wash themselves

And that girl

Clicking her shoes

She can dance on my grave

(I’ll outlive all of you.)

Shall we all play

The tugging game

I’ll be the rope

Did you say something

I remember it

(vaguely.)

Shouting in my ear

(what did you say?)

Yoshi could solve it

Swinging her fists

And the valiant Spanish knight

Armed with stick and puck

Is still attacking windmills

(where can I buy a rock?)
