Macbeth Trilogy

(part one)

By: Adrienne

I

( From Scottish heights

and highland highs

I heard her sing

her lullabies

of Viking's strong

and English sails

a red haired banshee

as she wails

but it's her song that takes me there

when I was free and pure and fair

and nothing more could mean the less

a fictitious metamorphoses

of what I was before I was this

a witch

a wish

reminder of a faerie's kiss,

it's in winter I know her name

nothing, nothings been the same )

II

From Scottish heights

and highland highs

I heard her sing her lullabies

I knew you once, and then again

time can't mend what Fate

won't end,

Mother

Maid

Madonna

and whore

make me who I was before.

Before I was sent

over the seas

& they took

my voice

away from me,

raped my memory

burned my mind

locked away her lullaby.

My secret history

is this

immaculate millennium shredded

with the lust of a knife

a haunted persona

in death and

in life.

From Scottish heights

and highland highs

I heard her sing

her lullabies

of murdered Kings

and guilt of nails

a red haired banshee

when she wails...
